Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings help those who are seeking legal services to evaluate and choose the best professional for their case. These objective ratings function as indicators of ethical conduct and professional skill. Ratings are based on a scale of 1 to 5 and focus on five key areas: Analytical Capabilities, Judgment, Legal Experience, Communication Ability, and Legal Knowledge. From these scores, a Certification Mark is generated. Those who receive the AV Preeminent ranking (a score between 4.5 and 5) are professionals whose colleagues feel that they have achieved excellence in their field. Martindale-Hubbell complements the Peer Review System with Client Review Ratings, which provide feedback on law firms and various legal professionals. The two systems work in tandem to help clients find the legal services they need.

Judge John Bowman, of Florida, participates in the annual National Adoption Day, a time when parents, advocates, elected officials, and judges celebrate, facilitate, and promote adoptions. Judge John Bowman works hard to protect children’s and parents’ rights during the adoption process.
Held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving for 12 years, the day has marked the adoption of some 44,500 foster children into permanent families. This year on November 23, event planners anticipate finalizing some 4,500 adoptions, out of the approximately 100,000 children currently in foster care. National Adoption Day coalition members also plan to increase public awareness of foster families and encourage cooperation among courts, advocates, and adoption agencies. They publicize not only the children needing homes but the 18-year-olds who leave foster care without their own family support. Partnering with National Adoption Day organizers are, among others, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, the Freddie Mac Foundation, and the Alliance for Children’s Rights. The events are bipartisan, with the president, governors, and members of congress providing support for the cause. |
